Dental implants

The only dental clinic Supplier of the Royal House of Romania

The dental implant represents one of the greatest discoveries of dental medicine, which gives groundbreaking solutions and hope to tooth deprived patients, practically changing people’s lives in certain situations. Inserted where the former roots used to be, dental implants practically act as the basis of the new teeth, which will function and look like natural teeth.

Patients provided with implant prostheses regain their ability to eat almost anything and they smile confidently, knowing that their new teeth look impeccable. Through the insertion of dental implants the integrity of the facial structure (of the dental arches) is preserved and the discomfort associated with the loss of one or more teeth is greatly reduced.

Dental implants are currently the only possibility of replacing missing teeth by means of fixed prostheses (different from removable dentures, which must be removed from the mouth for hygiene reasons), which closely resemble natural dentition.

What is a dental implant?

The dental implant is practically a small Titanium screw that replaces the root of the tooth. The surgical intervention presupposes inserting the implant into the lower or upper jaw bone, a completely painless operation.

What is the surgical procedure?

Nowadays, most surgical procedures for the insertion of implants allow patients to return home the same day. Following this operation, it takes a couple of months for the bone cells (osteoclasts and osteoblasts) to create a new bone tissue around the implant, a process called osseointegration. Osseointegration is usually easily accepted by the human body. In this way, the implant may serve as a support for a crown, a fixed bridge or a movable prosthesis.

Following the implant insertion operation there is a 4 to 6 months healing period during which, based on his clinical state, the patient will be provided with a provisional prosthetic piece which will ensure the functional and cosmetic role of the teeth until it is possible to perform the final prosthetic work.

Many patients are not comfortable with the idea of having the teeth in the proximity of the gap filed (a mandatory procedure in the case of dental bridges on natural supports) and in these cases it is possible to resort to implant – based prosthetics. This kind of prosthetic operation includes the following elements: the dental implant (the portion to be inserted into the bone), the prosthetic ball of the implant (on which the prosthetic restoration piece will be placed) and the dental crown (final prosthetic restoration piece).

The material dental implants are made of – Titanium – is biocompatible, which means that the likelihood of adverse reactions caused by its interaction with the human body is very low.

Who can get a dental implant?

Implants are recommended for all patients with missing teeth, without age limitations. Any person healthy enough to qualify for a small surgical intervention in the oral cavity can resort to this type of treatment.

Advice

Mention should be made that after the operation patients must maintain a very good local hygiene as otherwise inflammations of the gums will cause the loss of the implant. That is why it is necessary for patients to go to regular dental checks, every three months.

Dental implants enhance the quality of your life as they are built in such a way as to provide a natural feeling. The persons who have lost teeth regain the ability to eat virtually anything, to talk and to smile “from ear to ear”. More and more patients prefer this treatment method to using prostheses or bridges.
